Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Underhill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henri Hobbin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Underhill throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hobbin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Underhill as he jumps to the side. Hobbin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hobbin shoots for a double leg takedown but Underhill sprawls well. He's pushed Hobbin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Max Underhill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henri Hobbin. Underhill looks for a takedown but Hobbin sprawls well. Hobbin misses with a takedown and Underhill counters with a nice double leg into guard. Underhill wants to control from the top but Hobbin keeps moving. Underhill has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hobbin looking for a guillotine here but Underhill defends easily.

Nice takedown defense from Underhill. No joy for Hobbin on that attempt. Hobbin fails with the takedown and Underhill counters with a body kick. Hobbin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Hobbin darts in and clinches Underhill up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hobbin wants a takedown.
Underhill is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hobbin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Underhill tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hobbin just stands there and leans against the cage. Underhill wants to break free but Hobbin has control.

Hobbin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Underhill looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Underhill looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Underhill! You can see the frustration on Hobbin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hobbin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hobbin is trying to control Underhill's posture but Underhill avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Underhill wants to stand but Hobbin has his arm trapped. Underhill fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Underhill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hobbin on the ground. Hobbin wants to control but Underhill postures up. Hobbin gets back to half guard. Hobbin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Underhill is working away from the top position though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hobbin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Underhill but Underhill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. That could mean trouble for Hobbin! Hobbin tries to hold on but Underhill postures up. Hobbin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Underhill kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Underhill throws some wild stikes that Hobbin manages to avoid easily.

Underhill is trying desperately to improve position. Hobbin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Underhill is surviving well by controlling Hobbin's body position as best he can. Hobbin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Underhill is working to get back to half guard.
Hobbin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Underhill's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hobbin with shots to the head and body - Underhill looks very uncomfortable down there. Hobbin working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hobbin controlling from mount. Hobbin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Underhill has managed to escape the submission attempt.
