Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Trendall (ranked 25085 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Woods (ranked 8631 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Trendall is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Trendall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Woods! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woods gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Woods fails with the takedown. Woods gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Trendall has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Woods breaks the clinch.
Woods misses with a takedown enabling Trendall to counter with a crisp jab. Woods keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woods takes one to the side of the head.
Trendall closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trendall tries to keep at a distance but Woods has taken the fight into the clinch. Woods escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Woods closes the distance and clinches. Woods breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Woods closes the distance and clinches up with Trendall, looking for a takedown. Woods pushes Trendall against the cage but Trendall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Luke Trendall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Woods. Woods closes the distance but Trendall moves to the side enabling Trendall to counter with a crisp jab. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Trendall. Trendall tests Woods's chin there with a solid looking shot. Woods fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods throws a body punch but Trendall moves out of range. Woods tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trendall swats him away and circles back towards the center. Trendall tries to counter by clinching up but Woods breaks away and moves out of range. Trendall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Trendall fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Woods throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Trendall counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Trendall throws a head kick but Woods moves out of range.
Woods misses with a takedown attempt - Trendall sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Woods doesn't succeed with the takedown and Trendall counters with a left and a right that stings Woods. Woods stuffs the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Trendall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Trendall throws a chopping leg kick but Woods manages to avoid taking any serious damage. As Trendall backs off Woods throws a huge counter combo but Trendall manages to avoid it all. Woods has Trendall up against the cage in a clinch.
Woods effectively controlling the action here. Trendall is trying to break free. Trendall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Woods's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A shot to the body from Woods misses and Trendall counters with a nice uppercut. Woods misses with a two punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Trendall connects with a single shot there. Woods throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Trendall is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Woods throws a wild body kick that Trendall sees coming a mile off. Trendall is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. A right-left combo lands from Trendall. Woods closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trendall circles away. Woods looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Woods takes a jab right on the kisser.

Woods moves in looking to clinch but Trendall pushes him off. Trendall is working the combinations to good effect here. Woods throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. Trendall shoots in and gets a takedown into Woods's guard. Woods pushes Trendall off and scrambles back to his feet.

Woods gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Trendall counters with a stiff right hand. Trendall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Woods quickly recovers to half guard. Woods pushes Trendall off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trendall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Woods can do to turn this around? Trendall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Woods is breathing heavily. Woods actively working from the bottom here. Trendall prevents Woods from improving his position. Woods trying to control here.

Trendall moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A momentary lapse in concentration from Woods enables Trendall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Woods manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Woods is working an open guard so Trendall takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Trendall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Trendall showed some decent athleticism there. Trendall tries to stand and escape but Woods is controlling the position. Trendall decides to stand up. Trendall shoots in looking for a takedown. Woods tries to sprawl out of it but Trendall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woods manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Woods gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Trendall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Left hook, right uppercut from Trendall. A head kick misses from Trendall. Trendall lands with a nice combination. Woods backs away looking to recover. Trendall shoots in looking for a takedown but Woods manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trendall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Trendall dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A frustrated look appears on Trendall's face as he tries to break the clinch. Woods's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Woods fails in his attempt to clinch. Luke Trendall is winning the standup battle so far. Woods clinches up with Trendall and pushes him back against the cage. Trendall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Woods manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woods lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Woods controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Trendall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Trendall holds on and takes a little breather. Trendall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trendall is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Woods trying to control but Trendall is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Woods passes Trendall's left leg - he's now in half guard. Woods missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Trendall wants to control but Woods is keeping busy and won't allow it. Trendall looks like he's trying to stand up.
Woods is keen to just control but Trendall is a slippery customer. Woods is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Trendall scores with a nice head shot. Trendall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Woods shoots in looking for a takedown but Trendall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Woods's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Woods takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Woods throws a hook to the side of Trendall's head but Trendall sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Trendall closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Woods to the mat! Woods manages to get full guard. Woods pushes Trendall off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Woods throws a lazy head kick enabling Trendall to counter with a crisp jab. Trendall throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trendall wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Horrible takedown attempt by Trendall or perhaps it was just good defense by Woods, which made it look bad. Trendall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Trendall seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Woods shoots for a double leg takedown but Trendall sprawls well. He's pushed Woods's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Luke Trendall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Woods. Woods gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Trendall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Woods isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Trendall stacks Woods on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Trendall! Jake Woods has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Luke Trendall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Woods tries to bench press Trendall off him but Trendall keeps the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luke Trendall. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Trendall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
