The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pentono throws a shot from downtown. Mercier moves away and avoids it.
Pentono swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pentono takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pentono misses with a combination
and Mercier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pentono swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mercier .
Mercier avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pentono looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pentono fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mercier manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mercier slips under a jab.
A slow jab from Pentono misses its intended target.
It looked like Mercier was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Pentono.
Mercier ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Mercier sends Pentono crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mercier is motioning to the referee to let Pentono up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Pliko Pentono has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mercier walks into a jab.

Some wild striking there from Pentono.
Pentono rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mercier counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice shot lands for Pentono.
Mercier lands an uppercut, right on the button! Pentono tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
