Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jose Correa (ranked 1700 p4p, 210 weight class) and Police Officer (ranked 4749 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 4 losses; Police Officer! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Officer drives through with a takedown into Correa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Correa (0) vs (2) Officer Correa wants to sweep but no luck. Correa wants to control but Officer passes easily into half guard.
Officer prevents Correa from improving his position. Correa trying to hold on to Officer's head to control him but Officer postures up.
Correa is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are battling for position here. Correa manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Correa tries to land a sweep but no joy. Correa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Correa is looking for a triangle here but Officer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Correa is pressing down on Officer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Officer is holding on for now. Correa slows the pace down in half guard. Correa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Officer for as long as he can get away with.

Correa perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Officer is trying to maintain the position but Correa is very close to passing his half guard. Officer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Correa is pressing down on Officer's thigh, looking to free his foot. That's five minutes gone in the round. Correa looking to take Officer's back but Officer rolls and after a scramble, Officer ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Officer to escape a tricky position. Officer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Officer won't allow Correa to sweep him here. Correa working for submissions but it's allowed Officer to get to half guard.

Correa regains half guard. Correa tries to roll over but Officer keeps him under control. Correa has a hand on Officer's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Officer takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Score +3 for passing guard: Correa (5) vs (15) Officer

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Officer wants to control the pace but Correa is squirming around nicely. Officer is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Correa is in real trouble.
Score +3 for taking back: Correa (5) vs (18) Officer Officer keeps control of the position as Correa tries to break free.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Officer not allowing Correa to control his hands. Correa prevents Officer from getting a body triangle. Correa rolls, trying to escape but Officer keeps control of the position.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Officer biding his time, controlling Correa. Correa trying to control the position but Officer manages to sink in the hooks. Correa is in bad spot here.
Correa just trying to survive but Officer is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Officer slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Correa tries to roll but Officer sticks to his back.
What can Correa do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Correa manages to reverse the position and now he's in Officer's guard. Nice work there by Correa.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Correa trying to control but Officer is working from the bottom. Correa trying to move into half guard but instead Officer has managed to sweep! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Correa (7) vs (20) Officer Correa is trying to keep Officer in close.
Correa throws his legs up looking for a submission but Officer uses it to pass to side control.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Correa tries to bench press Officer off him but Officer keeps the position. The referee asks Officer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Officer prefers to stall for the moment though. You can see the frustration on Correa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Correa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Correa is looking to improve his position.
