Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Triglav Rugievit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Revan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Revan Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Triglav Rugievit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Revan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rugievit shoots in looking for a takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl out of it but Rugievit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gracie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rugievit drives through and clinches with Gracie against the cage.

Rugievit breaks the clinch.

Rugievit decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rugievit lands strikes from half guard.
Rugievit prevents Gracie from improving his position.
Rugievit tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.
Gracie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rugievit lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rugievit is pressing down on Gracie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gracie is holding on for now.

Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Rugievit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie trying to control but Rugievit postures up.
Rugievit wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Gracie uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Rugievit wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Rugievit has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rugievit doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Rugievit clobbers Gracie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Rugievit gets in close and instigates a clinch.

A right handed body shot lands from Rugievit.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Rugievit.

Rugievit jumps guard.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rugievit is keeping the position for now.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Rugievit keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rugievit trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
Rugievit wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Rugievit gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rugievit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rugievit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gracie crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rugievit - the referee stops the clock and Gracie gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rugievit. Gracie manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rugievit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rugievit is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Rugievit avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Triglav Rugievit dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Rugievit shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rugievit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rugievit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rugievit postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rugievit, into his guard.
Gracie won't allow Rugievit to sweep him here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rugievit is keeping the position for now.
Rugievit controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.
Rugievit is controlling Gracie's posture.
Gracie passes Rugievit's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Gracie wants to control but Rugievit is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rugievit works his way to full guard. Good work.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie forces his way into half guard.
Rugievit is looking to get back to full guard here but Gracie has managed to pass to side control instead.
Rugievit is trying desperately to improve position.
Rugievit is working hard here to advance position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Gracie but it's paid off an Rugievit is forced to tap! Nice work by Gracie.
