Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kron Karelin (ranked 20505 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Holmes (ranked 2140 p4p, 193 weight class). Hank Holmes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Hank Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Karelin shoots for a double leg takedown but Holmes sprawls well. He's pushed Karelin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Karelin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Holmes moves into the clinch.

Holmes gets control of Karelin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Holmes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Karelin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Holmes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Karelin manages to get himself to full guard.

Karelin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Karelin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holmes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Karelin pulls his head out easily.
Karelin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Holmes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Karelin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Karelin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Holmes sees it coming and defends easily.

Holmes is looking for a sweep. Karelin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Holmes is looking to control Karelin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Holmes avoid being mounted?
Still in half guard, Karelin seems content to control.
Holmes is concentrating on defense, preventing Karelin from advancing position.

Karelin is looking for a kimura but Holmes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Karelin to get the leverage.
Holmes tries to roll over but Karelin keeps him under control.

Karelin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Holmes defends it well.

Karelin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Holmes has managed to free his arm - good work.
Holmes is looking to get back to full guard here but Karelin has managed to pass to side control instead.

Holmes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Karelin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Karelin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Holmes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Holmes is looking to reverse the position.
Holmes told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Karelin trying to control the action but Holmes is working from the bottom.

Karelin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Holmes, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holmes tries to buck Karelin off but Karelin is having none of it.
Who's going to make the next move?

Karelin has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Holmes is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Karelin yanks on the arm and Holmes is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Karelin.
