4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cliff Nash ! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nash explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Holliday gets the takedown into side control. Nash manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Holliday wants to pass the guard but Nash is defending well. Nash is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nash is looking to escape. Nash trying to get back to full guard but Holliday takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Nash is trying to escape the mount.

Cliff Nash dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Holliday closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nash to the mat! Nash manages to get full guard. Nash bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Holliday's guard. Holliday wants to sweep but no luck. Nash postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Holliday stands and throws Nash 's legs to the side, diving into side control. John Henry Holliday overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Holliday is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nash has escaped the position, nice work there. Holliday is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nash knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nash is looking for a sweep. Nash sneaks back into half guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Holliday counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Holliday.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Holliday prevents the takedown attempt.
Nash wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Holliday has him pressed against the cage. Holliday has hold of one of Nash 's legs. Nash is fighting the takedown attempt but Holliday gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Nash controls Holliday momentarily but Holliday frees himself. Holliday advances to half guard. Nash is trying to get back to full guard. Holliday is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
