The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pole in his tracks.
Newell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Mark Pole has been cut.
Pole takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Newell with a nice cross.
Newell cracks Pole with a good jab.
Newell lands a lovely overhand right.
Pole throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pole fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Newell manages to avoid it.
Pole takes one to the chin there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Newell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pole.
Pole throws a lazy right hand but Newell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Duke Newell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newell lands with a hook. Pole tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Pole needs to keep his hands up - Newell had a free shot at his head there.
Pole throws a leg kick but Newell checks it.
Newell scores with a hook to the body. Pole takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Good standup being displayed there by Newell as he connects with a hook.
Newell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pole.
Pole throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Newell counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Newell's coach down at The Foundry was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Newell's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Pole is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pole swings for the body but Newell moves out of range.
Oh Pole is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pole leaves his chin hanging out and Newell seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Pole crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
