Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Araujo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gordon Freeman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Araujo! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

Araujo tries to clinch up.
Freeman closes the distance and clinches. Araujo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Freeman has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Araujo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Araujo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Freeman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Araujo lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Gordon Freeman has been cut. Araujo tries a knee to the head but Freeman blocks it.
Araujo pushes off an fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Freeman tries for a takedown. No joy.
Araujo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Freeman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Araujo clinches but Freeman breaks the clinch and Freeman counters with a flying knee. Nice. Freeman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Freeman scores a takedown into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Freeman gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Araujo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Freeman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Freeman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Freeman showed some decent athleticism there.
Freeman stands up from half guard. Freeman is breathing heavily. Araujo wants to clinch but Freeman slips to the side
and Freeman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Araujo's guard now. Freeman trying to control the position from guard on top but Araujo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Freeman stands up and waves to Araujo to follow him. Freeman circles away from the clinch attempt letting Freeman counter with a right hand.
Freeman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Araujo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Freeman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/4.gif) That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Araujo tries to clinch but Freeman moves away and Freeman counters with a thumping low kick.
Freeman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Araujo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Freeman.
Araujo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Freeman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Freeman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Araujo keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordon Freeman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Gordon Freeman's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Araujo closes the distance but Freeman moves to the side
and Freeman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Araujo's guard now. Araujo keeping moving, preventing Freeman from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Freeman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Araujo, up you get! Freeman circles away from the clinch attempt
and Freeman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gordon Freeman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Freeman is looking to work some ground and pound but Araujo has wrist control.
Freeman gets to his feet. Araujo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Jeff Araujo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Araujo tries to clinch but fails miserably and Freeman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Freeman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Araujo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Araujo is pushing Freeman's head away, looking to escape. Freeman manages to hold on to the position though.
Freeman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Freeman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Araujo will be more careful next time no doubt. Freeman misses with a takedown attempt - Araujo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Araujo wants to clinch but Freeman slips to the side
and Freeman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Araujo won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Freeman tries to move to mount but Araujo blocks the move with his legs. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Freeman stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Araujo tries to clinch up
and Freeman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordon Freeman dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Gordon Freeman's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Freeman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Freeman wants to advance to full mount but Araujo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Freeman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Araujo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Freeman won't allow Araujo to get back to his feet.
Freeman stands and steps away. Araujo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Araujo clinches but Freeman breaks the clinch
and Freeman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Araujo wants to get back to his feet.
Freeman is tying to control. Araujo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

And that's the end of the fight! Gordon Freeman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Freeman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
