Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 27 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pascual Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 49 - 52 - 2, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Poulter can't find room to land a body shot as Perez controls the action.
A right handed body shot lands from Perez.
Perez is stalling here.
Poulter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Perez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Poulter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Perez has him pressed against the cage.
Perez displaying some good clinch control by pressing Poulter up against the cage.
Perez lands a body punch.

Perez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Perez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Perez is working for a kimura but Poulter is defending it quite comfortably.

Perez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Poulter has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Perez is trying to work for a kimura but Poulter is defending well.
Perez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Perez wants to work for an arm triangle but Poulter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Perez controlling the pace.
Perez trying to control from half guard but Poulter is working away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Perez passes to side control.

Perez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Perez cracks Poulter with a big elbow.
Perez wants to control but Poulter is keeping him busy.
Poulter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Perez.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perez is looking to take a break and control but Poulter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Perez is staying tight to Poulter's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Poulter is not content to let Perez control the position.

Perez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Poulter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Perez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Poulter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Perez has an Americana. Poulter didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Perez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Perez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Pascual Perez!
A relieved looking Pascual Perez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
