PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Mclovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ripp Arrm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mclovin comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm by Darude. Ripp Arrm has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fedor Mclovin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fedor Mclovin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ripp Arrm!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mclovin avoids the body shot from Arrm.
A head kick misses from Mclovin.
Ripp Arrm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mclovin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Arrm throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mclovin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mclovin moves in looking to clinch but Arrm pushes him off.
Arrm misses with a straight left.
Arrm shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Arrm shoots in but no luck this time.
Arrm misses with a body shot.
Good shot there by Arrm.
Arrm jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arrm lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Mclovin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arrm as he avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Mclovin counters with a flying knee. Nice.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arrm misses with a hook. Mclovin ducked under it nicely.

Arrm avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Arrm slips nicely into half guard.
Still in half guard, Arrm seems content to control.
Arrm is looking to take a break and control but Mclovin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mclovin wants to improve his position but Arrm is controlling well.
Arrm wants to free his trapped foot but Mclovin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mclovin is trying to maintain the position but Arrm is very close to passing his half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mclovin tries for a takedown but Arrm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mclovin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Arrm throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Arrm throws a lazy right hand but Mclovin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mclovin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Arrm jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mclovin slips a jab and a cross from Arrm.

Arrm looks to land a left hand but Mclovin moved out of range nicely.
Arrm misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Horrible takedown by Arrm or perhaps it was just good defense by Mclovin which made him look bad.
Fedor Mclovin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ripp Arrm.

Arrm feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Arrm thows a big elbow that misses.
Mclovin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Arrm distracts Mclovin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Mclovin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mclovin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Arrm is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Arrm is pushing down on Mclovin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mclovin is fighting to maintain full guard but Arrm has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mclovin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ripp Arrm dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Mclovin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arrm.

and Mclovin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Arrm's guard now.

Mclovin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mclovin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Arrm is trying to control the position but Mclovin postures up.

Arrm has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mclovin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Arrm has tightened it up now! Mclovin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ripp Arrm!
