Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Rein Van Antwerpen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kaz McStafferson! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McStafferson throws a right hand that Van Antwerpen ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Antwerpen also avoids with ease. McStafferson gets the takedown into side control. McStafferson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Antwerpen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Van Antwerpen is looking for a sweep. McStafferson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Van Antwerpen wants to control but McStafferson postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Antwerpen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McStafferson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Van Antwerpen is trying to control McStafferson's posture but McStafferson avoids it. McStafferson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McStafferson is trying to get an arm triangle but Van Antwerpen is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. McStafferson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Antwerpen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McStafferson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Antwerpen, who protects the arm well. McStafferson swings around for an armbar but Van Antwerpen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McStafferson's guard. McStafferson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Van Antwerpen's guard. McStafferson stopping the sweep attempt from Van Antwerpen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McStafferson drops back looking for a leg! Van Antwerpen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Van Antwerpen manages to kick McStafferson off! McStafferson jumps back into Van Antwerpen's guard. Van Antwerpen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McStafferson. McStafferson preventing the sweep. McStafferson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Van Antwerpen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Van Antwerpen has escaped and now he's on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Antwerpen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McStafferson dives on top into guard. Van Antwerpen keeping moving, preventing McStafferson from controlling successfully. McStafferson is standing up over Van Antwerpen. Van Antwerpen looks to escape but McStafferson dives into side control.
Van Antwerpen is not content to let McStafferson control the position. Van Antwerpen tries to buck McStafferson off but McStafferson is having none of it. McStafferson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McStafferson tries for a kimura but Van Antwerpen is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McStafferson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Antwerpen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. McStafferson tries to advance to mount but Van Antwerpen denies him. McStafferson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Van Antwerpen has escaped the position, nice work there. Van Antwerpen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McStafferson off and has taken his back! Van Antwerpen struggling to keep hold of the position.
McStafferson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Kaz McStafferson dominated that round. That's time! Van Antwerpen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Van Antwerpen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McStafferson to the mat! McStafferson manages to get full guard. McStafferson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Van Antwerpen is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Antwerpen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McStafferson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Van Antwerpen rolls with it to try and escape but McStafferson cranks on the arm and Van Antwerpen is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
