Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Kowalski (ranked 924 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Mendelssohn (ranked 4746 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendelssohn has chosen Oblivion as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Frank Kowalski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frank Kowalski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Kowalski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sven Mendelssohn! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendelssohn misses with a takedown and Mendelssohn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mendelssohn fails with the takedown and Kowalski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kowalski lunges at Mendelssohn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mendelssohn's hand. Kowalski scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mendelssohn misses with a takedown attempt and Kowalski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Frank Kowalski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Mendelssohn. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendelssohn has his takedown stuffed and Kowalski counters with a straight right hand. Kowalski darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalski thuds a left hand into Mendelssohn's body. A lazy left from Kowalski finds it's target. Mendelssohn shoots and misses and Kowalski counters with a right hand to the body. Kowalski definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kowalski lands a jab to Mendelssohn's midsection. Mendelssohn tries for a takedown but Kowalski circles away easily and Kowalski counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mendelssohn looks winded! Nice shot by Kowalski. Kowalski dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kowalski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Sven Mendelssohn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendelssohn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kowalski throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendelssohn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Kowalski stuns Mendelssohn with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kowalski lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Kowalski uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mendelssohn has time to react. Kowalski thuds his right hand into Mendelssohn's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Kowalski lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Mendelssohn with a lazy takedown attempt and Kowalski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kowalski lands with a hook. Mendelssohn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendelssohn misses with a takedown and Kowalski counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kowalski scores with a jab to the head.
Mendelssohn has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mendelssohn there as he acknowledges the shot. Frank Kowalski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mendelssohn looks to clinch and Kowalski counters with a right hand to the body. A cross from Kowalski lands. Kowalski cracks Mendelssohn on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mendelssohn falls backwards against the cage. Kowalski follows up with more strikes that drop Mendelssohn to his knees. Kowalski keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mendelssohn! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Kowalski! Frank Kowalski decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Sven Mendelssohn was interviewed post fight and said 'Congrats to my opponent. I will be back.'.
