Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Snyder (ranked 8053 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Weaton (ranked 5781 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Snyder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Weaton!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Weaton blocks the elbow strike.

Weaton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Weaton fails with the takedown.
Snyder misses with a jab, cross combination.
Weaton fails with a takedown attempt.

Weaton has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weaton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Snyder gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jim Snyder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Weaton.
Weaton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Snyder pulls guard successfully.
Snyder looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weaton is one step ahead there.
Weaton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snyder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Snyder working for a triangle but Weaton defends it easily.
Snyder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Weaton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Snyder is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Snyder has escaped and now he's on top!


Snyder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snyder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Weaton throws his legs up looking for a submission but Snyder uses it to pass to side control.
Snyder lands a decent elbow from side control.
Snyder working the ground and pound.

Snyder thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Snyder decides to stand up, so the ref orders Weaton to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Weaton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Weaton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Snyder stacks Weaton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Snyder!
Weaton looks winded!
Snyder lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Weaton down.

Snyder stands up and beckons Weaton to his feet.
Weaton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Snyder counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Snyder.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snyder stalls.

Snyder has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Weaton uses from the top position.

Snyder is looking for a triangle but Weaton pushes his legs off easily.

Weaton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snyder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Weaton has managed to get both his arms back between Snyder's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Weaton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Snyder looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Snyder is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Snyder dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Snyder gets the takedown into side control.
Weaton is looking to get back to his feet here but Snyder is keeping cool and he's managed to take Weaton's back.
Jim Snyder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snyder is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Weaton knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Weaton for a finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weaton is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Snyder gets his way!

Weaton is trying to stand back up.

Snyder keeps control of the position easily here as Weaton tries to buck him off.

Snyder is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Weaton is tapping out! This one is all over!
