Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Dunlap (ranked 7350 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dany McHook (ranked 5127 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dominick Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dany McHook!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunlap fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

McHook gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McHook is trying to break free.
McHook is trying to pull guard but Dunlap turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
McHook tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dunlap has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McHook after a bit of a struggle.
Dunlap wants to take the fight to the mat but McHook manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominick Dunlap. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dunlap pulls guard successfully.
Dunlap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McHook manages to get himself to full guard.

McHook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunlap. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McHook is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Dunlap trying to control but McHook is working from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dunlap prevents McHook from getting back to his feet.
McHook has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dunlap has passed into side control.
Dunlap staying calm.

Dunlap tries for a kimura but McHook is defending well.

Dunlap tries to stand but McHook is controlling his head.
You can see the frustration on McHook's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dunlap decides to stand up, so the ref orders McHook to his feet.
Dany McHook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McHook fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

McHook gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dunlap wants a takedown but no success here.

Dunlap breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McHook tries a head kick but it misses.
Dunlap was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
McHook has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dunlap is landing a low percentage of strikes.
McHook dives in and grabs Dunlap's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dunlap pushes down on McHook's head and hops out.

McHook clinches up with Dunlap and pushes him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dunlap jumps into guard, dragging McHook to the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McHook throws a big right hand that misses.
Dunlap really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McHook's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dominick Dunlap dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dunlap will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McHook shoots in looking for a takedown but Dunlap manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McHook's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McHook shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunlap tries to sprawl out of it but McHook keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunlap manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McHook has closed the distance and engaged Dunlap in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dunlap pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McHook has a takedown stuffed.
Dominick Dunlap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dany McHook.

Dunlap plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Dunlap fails with a takedown attempt.
Dunlap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McHook tries to avoid it but Dunlap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McHook to the ground. McHook escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McHook will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little feinted left hand from Dunlap on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

McHook closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McHook not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McHook is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
McHook is breathing heavily.
Dunlap looking to hit a scissor sweep but McHook is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McHook trying to control but Dunlap is working from the bottom.
McHook stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dunlap swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dunlap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McHook manages to get himself to full guard.

McHook wants to sweep but no luck.

Dunlap gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
McHook misses with a two punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McHook drives through and clinches with Dunlap against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dunlap gets control of McHook's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dunlap will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

McHook gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dunlap is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McHook throws a right hand that Dunlap ducks under and follows up with a left that Dunlap also avoids with ease.

McHook gets caught flat footed, as Dunlap shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dunlap is standing up over McHook. McHook looks to escape but Dunlap dives into side control.

McHook is looking to reverse the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McHook can't do much from the bottom here.
McHook tries to improve position but can't.

Dunlap is trying to get an arm triangle but McHook is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dunlap trying to control the position but McHook is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dominick Dunlap will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


No joy there for McHook, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Dunlap bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McHook's guard.

Dunlap stops McHook from standing up.
Dunlap wants to control from the top but McHook keeps moving.
Dunlap works over McHook with some ground and pound from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dunlap will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dunlap drops back looking for a leg! McHook is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McHook manages to kick Dunlap off! Dunlap jumps back into McHook's guard.
Dunlap working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
McHook is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dunlap is controlling him.
McHook is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dunlap is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dunlap wants to control from the top but McHook keeps moving.
McHook is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McHook gets a takedown into half guard.
Dunlap slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Dunlap bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McHook's guard.

Dunlap passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McHook takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McHook wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Dunlap wants to stand but McHook is controlling his arm.
McHook tries to buck Dunlap off but Dunlap is having none of it.
McHook tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dunlap takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McHook is in all sorts of trouble here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dominick Dunlap showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dunlap, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
