Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Durden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Indiana Jones! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durden missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Durden is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Nice sprawl there from Jones as Durden shoots in. Durden has a takedown stuffed. Durden shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Durden. That's going to take a lot out of him. Durden closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard. Jones is pulling down on Durden's head to control his posture. Jones wants to sweep here but Durden controlling him for the moment. Durden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones keeping moving, preventing Durden from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durden wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Jones looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Durden tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Durden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Durden tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Durden waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Jones. Durden fails in his attempt to clinch. Durden throws a leg kick that misses. Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Durden wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Durden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Durden is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones looks gassed! Durden is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! Durden controlling well, preventing Jones from escaping the position.
Durden misses with an elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to escape but Durden has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Durden is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Jones won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Durden off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tyler Durden!
