PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Nagasacki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zillah Yahweh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Nagasacki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zillah Yahweh!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagasacki tries to clinch up.
Nagasacki misses with a wild combination.
Yahweh connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Zillah Yahweh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nagasacki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yahweh cracks Nagasacki with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Yahweh closes the distance but Nagasacki moves to the side

and Nagasacki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nagasacki stops Yahweh from standing up.
Nagasacki trying to control the position from guard on top but Yahweh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yahweh controlling the position.
Yahweh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nagasacki controls the pace.
Yahweh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nagasacki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yahweh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nagasacki is controlling him.

Nagasacki stands up and waves to Yahweh to follow him.
Nagasacki takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Hiro Nagasacki has been cut.
Nagasacki is breathing heavily.

Nagasacki tries to keep at a distance but Yahweh has taken the fight into the clinch.
Yahweh using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Nagasacki fails to pull guard.
Nagasacki could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Yahweh manages to break the clinch.
Yahweh looks to land a combination but Nagasacki avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nagasacki scores a takedown into full mount!
Yahweh bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Nagasacki looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Nagasacki is looking to stand up but Yahweh isn't so interested in that idea.
Nagasacki is controlling Yahweh's posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yahweh preventing the sweep.
Nagasacki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yahweh!

Nagasacki looking to ground and pound but Yahweh is blocking nicely.
Nagasacki punching from mount but Yahweh doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Nagasacki is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Yahweh has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Yahweh!
Nagasacki looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zillah Yahweh will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Hiro Nagasacki's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nagasacki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yahweh as he avoids it easily.
Yahweh misses with a hook. Nagasacki ducked under it nicely.
Nagasacki misses with a head kick.

Yahweh moves into the clinch.

Yahweh breaks the clinch.

Nagasacki scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Nagasacki controlling the action here.
Yahweh is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nagasacki is thwarting Yahweh's attempts to control the position.
Nagasacki trying to control the action but Yahweh is working from the bottom.
Nagasacki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nagasacki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yahweh looks to clinch
and Nagasacki counters with a nice uppercut.
Nagasacki scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yahweh doesn't seem bothered though.
Nagasacki lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Good leg kick by Nagasacki there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Yahweh tries to keep at a distance but Nagasacki has taken the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nagasacki takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Nagasacki manages to break the clinch.
Yahweh stuffs the takedown.
Nagasacki moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nagasacki scores with a body shot.
Yahweh throws a good cross that connects.
Nagasacki shoots in but Yahweh avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Nagasacki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yahweh stuffs the takedown attempt from Nagasacki. Nagasacki gets slowly back to his feet.
Zillah Yahweh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Yahweh drops Nagasacki with a huge uppercut! Nagasacki drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Yahweh is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zillah Yahweh!
