PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasili Komaroff (ranked 439 p4p, 55 weight class) and Sparky Anderson (ranked 708 p4p, 84 weight class). Komaroff comes to the cage accompanied by Kaleida - Think. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Komaroff looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Komaroff manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anderson on his heels. He'll look to pass Anderson's guard now, I'm sure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anderson leaves Komaroff with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Komaroff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Komaroff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Komaroff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasili Komaroff. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters circle momentarily. Anderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Komaroff has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Anderson.

Komaroff has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Anderson.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sparky Anderson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Komaroff throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Anderson on the side of the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Oh Komaroff is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Anderson drops Komaroff with a huge uppercut! Komaroff drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Anderson is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sparky Anderson!
Sparky Anderson is the new lightweight champion!
Sparky Anderson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Vasili Komaroff had this to say: 'In the eyes of myself, I won this fight. In the eyes of God, I won this fight.'.
