Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big J Smiles (ranked 5331 p4p, 503 weight class) and Ragnar Danneskjöld (ranked 2670 p4p, 288 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smiles might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smile Like You Mean It. Ragnar Danneskjöld has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big J Smiles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ragnar Danneskjöld! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Smiles looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Danneskjöld forces Smiles back against the cage and clinches. Smiles with a knee to the head.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Danneskjöld. Danneskjöld managing to block the knees to the body from Smiles.
Danneskjöld lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Smiles utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Danneskjöld fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smiles tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Danneskjöld avoids it. We've been informed that Danneskjöld has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Smiles landing knees to the head.

Danneskjöld has Smiles pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Danneskjöld pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Smiles tumbling to the mat - Danneskjöld dives into Smiles's guard. Smiles scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smiles gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danneskjöld is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smiles is defending well. Smiles's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Smiles trying to control the position but instead, Danneskjöld has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smiles into the cage. Smiles tries to work over Danneskjöld's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A knee to the head by Smiles.
Danneskjöld has picked Smiles up - he's going for a ride! Danneskjöld dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Smiles wants to get back to his feet.
Smiles is not content to let Danneskjöld control the position. Danneskjöld might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smiles haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Smiles pushes Danneskjöld off looking to stand but Danneskjöld dives back in and keeps control.
Danneskjöld wants to free his trapped foot but Smiles is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danneskjöld trying to control from half guard but Smiles is working away. Danneskjöld looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Danneskjöld thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Danneskjöld missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Danneskjöld prevents Smiles from standing back up.
Danneskjöld throws a strike but Smiles avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Danneskjöld is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Smiles manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smiles instigates a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Danneskjöld blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Smiles missing with knees to the body.
Danneskjöld works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Smiles pushes Danneskjöld off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Smiles looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Smiles takes the fight into the clinch. Danneskjöld has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Smiles after a bit of a struggle. Danneskjöld lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Danneskjöld misses with a short punch on the inside. Smiles lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Danneskjöld's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Danneskjöld looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smiles with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Danneskjöld continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Danneskjöld tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Danneskjöld takes a knee right on the jaw!
Smiles gets underhooks to prevent Danneskjöld's takedown attempt.
Big J Smiles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ragnar Danneskjöld. Smiles has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Danneskjöld - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Smiles, and another! Danneskjöld is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Big J Smiles! Big J Smiles bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. In defeat, Ragnar Danneskjöld stepped up to the mic, saying 'Who is John Galt?'.
