PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bode Muller (ranked 3841 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Dock (ranked 5847 p4p, 0 weight class). Muller comes to the cage accompanied by Feuer Frei. Dock has chosen The Hangover Soundtrack- Iko Iko as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Bode Muller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Dock!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muller throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dock stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Muller takes the fight into the clinch.
Muller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dock misses with a knee strike.
Muller has a couple of punches blocked by Dock.
A short uppercut from Muller.
Muller lands a shot to the body.
Muller tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Muller lands an uppercut.
Dock tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Muller works on Dock's body with a couple of short punches.
Dock looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Muller lands with a short shot to the head.
A shot in the inside from Muller.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Muller wants the takedown. Dock is fighting it off but Muller persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dock's guard against the cage.

Dock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Muller defends it easily.
Dock looks winded!
Muller advances to half guard.
Dock is not content to let Muller control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Muller seems to be working for a kimura but Dock defends the submission attempt.
Muller slips a nice elbow through Dock's hands, connecting with Dock's forehead.
Dock won't allow Muller to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Muller looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Muller connects with a nice short shot to Dock's temple.

Dock actively working from the bottom here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dock is looking for a sweep. Muller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Muller pulls his head out easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Muller winds up and cracks Dock with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Muller is trying to work for a kimura but Dock is defending well.
Muller looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Muller lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Well, if Muller is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Muller is looking to take a break and control but Dock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dock has hold of Muller's hands but Muller slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.


Dock is rocked!
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Muller moves into full mount! Dock won't be happy about that!
Muller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dock seems to have recovered his senses.
Dock can't escape the position.

Dock manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Muller lands a big elbow - Dock is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Muller!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bode Muller!
During a confident post fight interview, Bode Muller thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
