Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luan Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa has chosen Voodoo Child as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa swats away the attempt to clinch by Soares.
Soares fails in his attempt to clinch.
Soares throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sousa's waist but Sousa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Soares off to one side.
Soares fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sousa, pushing him back against the cage.
Sousa is trying to break free.
Soares wants a takedown.
Sousa tries to pull guard but Soares holds him up against the cage and eventually Sousa drops back down to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eduardo Soares. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sousa tries for a kimura but Soares is defending well.
Soares sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Soares wants to get back to his feet.
Soares wants to improve his position but Sousa is controlling well.

Soares lands a couple of sideways elbows.

Sousa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Soares doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sousa.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Soares throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Sousa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soares tries to avoid it but Sousa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soares to the ground. Soares escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Soares shoots for a takedown but Sousa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Soares fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sousa is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Soares pulls his head out easily.

Sousa is refusing to be controlled, as Soares sits in half guard.
Sousa trying to control from the bottom.
Soares wants to control but Sousa is keeping him busy.
Sousa wants to get back to his feet.
Ground and pound from Soares.
Soares passes the guard and advances to mount!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Soares tries to clinch but Sousa moves out of range.
Sousa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sousa showed some decent athleticism there.
Sousa is working for a kimura but Soares is defending it quite comfortably.
Soares pushes Sousa off looking to stand but Sousa dives back in and keeps control.
Soares is not content to let Sousa control the position.

Soares is defending against the submission attempts here by Sousa.

Sousa is tying to control. Soares wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Soares looking for submissions off his back.
Soares makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Soares.
Sousa drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Sousa seems to have locked his on tight now - Soares screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Sousa, as he picks up the win!
