Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benson Whyte (ranked 120 p4p, 21 weight class) and Gum Shoe (ranked 298 p4p, 47 weight class). Whyte comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - Jammin. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gum Shoe was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shoe.
Whyte uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shoe.
Shoe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Whyte walks into a straight right hand from Shoe.
Shoe moves in looking to clinch but Whyte pushes him off.
Shoe takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Whyte looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Whyte moves out of range of the strikes.
Whyte pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shoe is out of range and Whyte settles back down.
Shoe has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shoe stalks Whyte and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Whyte's face. Whyte staggers backwards, shaken.

It looked like Whyte was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shoe.

Shoe lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Shoe was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Shoe swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Whyte counters with a nice uppercut.
Gum Shoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shoe darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Whyte wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Whyte pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Whyte blocks the body kick.

and Whyte counters with a nice kick to the body.

and Shoe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Shoe jabs Whyte right on the nose. Whyte blinks but takes it well.

and Whyte counters with a low kick, right behind Shoe 's knee.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shoe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Whyte feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shoes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shoe cracks Whyte with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Shoe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shoe has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Shoe lands a leg kick that knocks Whyte off balance momentarily.
Shoe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Whyte.

That kick from Shoe tenderised Whyte's leg. Whyte is trying to keep his angry face on.
Whyte connects with a nice cross there... Shoe is looking wobbly and Whyte recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Shoe to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Whyte jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Benson Whyte bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Gum Shoe spoke after the fight, saying 'I will stick to you like glue until I find you and keel yew!'.
