Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junkyard Dog (ranked 1110 p4p, 146 weight class) and Taiga Jim (ranked 630 p4p, 84 weight class). Junkyard Dog could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Taiga Jim's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taiga Jim! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Jim. Those never looked like landing. Dog throws a body punch but Jim moves out of range. Dog misses the shot to the body. Jim has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dog is landing a low percentage of strikes. A left lands for Dog. Dog throws a lazy right hand but Jim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dog throws a right hand that misses
and Jim counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Dog chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Jim clinches up with Dog and pushes him back against the cage. Jim struggles to land a body shot inside as Dog controls his hands.
Dog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jim slips under a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jim blocks a leg kick. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jim! But no joy. A big right from Dog misses. Jim keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jim is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Jim uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dog. Dog is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Jim's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jim throws a body punch but Dog moves out of range. Dog looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A big left from Dog misses. Jim drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dog defends it well. Jim checks a leg kick. Jim tries to clinch up. Jim slips under a jab from Dog. Dog blocks a head kick by Jim.
Jim takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Dog fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jim on the side of the head. Dog takes a swing at Jim's ribcage but misses. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jim checks a leg kick. Dog throws a poor cross that misses
and Jim counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jim changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Dog bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jim's head. Dog throws a leg kick which misses Jim's front leg but catches the back leg as Jim tries to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog throws a looping overhand right but Jim ducks down to avoid it. Dog gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jim to score an easy takedown into full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jim accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jim trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jim with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jim stopping the sweep attempt from Dog. Jim pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dog is keeping the position for now. Jim engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dog pulls Jim in close to his closed guard and prevents Jim from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jim trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dog seems keen to control Jim's posture. Dog being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dog moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Jim fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dog on the side of the head. Dog swings widly with a right hand
and Jim counters with a left to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jim fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jim pushes Dog up against the cage in a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Dog fails to land. Jim pushes Dog back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A short body shot lands from Jim as the two fighters clinch.
Jim throws a head punch that misses. Jim blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Dog scores with a shot to the side of Jim's head. A short right from Jim. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dog looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Jim goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dog prevents it.
A short left from Jim. Dog wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jim has him pressed against the cage. Jim turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Dog trying to remain calm as Jim controls from the top position. Jim trying to control the position but Dog is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Taiga Jim will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Junkyard Dog is winning the standup battle so far. Jim swinging wildly here.
Dog lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dog turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Dog throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Dog missing with a left hand there. Jim was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dog fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dog pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Jim is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Jim steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Dog. That one must have hurt. Jim scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dog doesn't seem bothered though. Dog attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog throws a jab but it's blocked by Jim. Jim connects with a jab. Dog throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jim. Jim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dog swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dog lands with a shot to the body. Jim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dog misses with a hook
and Jim counters with a nice uppercut. Dog misses with a body kick. Jim jabs Dog to the body, keeping him at a distance. Junkyard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog thows a leg kick but Jim checks it enabling Jim to counter with a crisp jab. Jim blocks a leg kick. Jim throws a big shot that misses. It looked like Dog was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Dog connects with a right hand. Jim shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog moves out of range as Jim strikes. Jim checks the leg kick nicely there.
A little jabbing left from Jim on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dog defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jim. Jim has his takedown stuffed and Dog counters with a right hand to the body. Jim slips a jab from Dog. Jim misses with a hook. Dog throwing a counter right hand but Jim manages to avoid it. Dog tries to move into range but Jim moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Dog slips a jab from Jim. Jim gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Dog uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Dog fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jim is out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog misses with a kick to the body.
Dog rushes Jim and presses him up against the cage. Jim swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dog breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dog misses with a low kick.
Dog throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jim gets a clinch. Jim slows down the pace here.
Dog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dog jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dog misses the jab. Jim looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog cracks Jim with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Nice sprawl there from Dog as Jim shoots in. Junkyard Dog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taiga Jim. Jim fails in his attempt to clinch. Dog is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jim sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dog tests Jim's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jim jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jim lands a slapping body shot.
Jim misses with a takedown attempt and Dog counters with a stiff right hand. Some wild striking there from Dog.
Dog misses with an uppercut. Jim saw that one coming. Dog scores with a punch to the head. Jim moves out of range of the body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junkyard Dog dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Jim shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dog as he jumps to the side. Dog ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dog scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Dog leaves Jim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A shot to the liver by Dog. Beautiful body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dog cracks Jim with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Dog throws the left hand but Jim avoids the punch easily. Dog lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jim at a distance.
Jim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dog swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dog was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dog sprawls well. Dog wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jim gets slowly back to his feet. Junkyard Dog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taiga Jim. Jim swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jim ducks under a wild hook from Dog. Jim feints the counter takedown. Dog scores with a jab to the body. Dog with a nice cross. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jim checks a leg kick. Jim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dog manages to avoid it. Jim tries to close the distance and clinch but Dog swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jim doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dog counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A swing and a miss from Dog.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jim sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dog swats him away and circles back towards the center. A jab from Dog does it's job there. Dog shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jim eats them both and turns towards Dog to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Jim fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dog, pushing him back against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jim has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dog after a bit of a struggle. Jim changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dog fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dog connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Dog throws a big shot that misses. Jim shoots in for a takedown but Dog shows good takedown defense. Jim blocks a low kick nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog cracks a nice hook into Jim's ribs. Jim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dog manages to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Dog. Jim does a little dance to reset his feet. Dog misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jim misses the shot to the body. Dog was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Jim doesn't manage to clinch there - Dog circles away.
Dog misses with a looping right. Decent striking displayed by Dog there. Dog looks to score with a jab to the body but Jim is just out of range. Jim bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. And Jim tries to counter it with a takedown but Dog pushes his down on his head and steps out. Dog dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jim. That did some damage! Dog scores with a nice strike. Jim takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jim looks to throw the jab but Dog is out of range. Dog throws a lazy uppercut
and Jim connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dog connects with a nice looking jab.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jim pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dog comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dog lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Dog swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jim changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Dog scores with a sloppy right hand. Jim should have avoided that one. Nice body punch from Dog. Jim lands a nice looking body shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dog. Dog slaps away a takedown attempt from Jim, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Junkyard Dog showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dog has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
