Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Russo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Blabbidy Blabalov! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Blabalov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Blabalov lands with a nice combination. Russo backs away looking to recover. Blabalov throws a series of punches but Russo moves out of range. As Blabalov tries to get set, Russo tries to push him back and clinch up but Blabalov manages to avoid the attempt. Blabalov stuffs the takedown. Blabalov misses with a series of wild punches.

Russo tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Blabalov manages to circle out of the way. Russo shoots in for a takedown but Blabalov shows good takedown defense. Blabalov is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Russo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blabalov moves into range and clinches up with Russo. Russo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blabalov smiles and moves away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Blabalov tries to bum rush Russo with a series of wild strikes but Russo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blabalov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Russo's hands. Blabalov cracks Russo with a good jab. Russo has Blabalov up against the cage in a clinch.

Russo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Blabalov doesn't defend quickly enough and Russo has managed to lock this one up! Can Blabalov escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Russo on a fantastic submission victory.
