Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisher has chosen Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots for a takedown but Fisher saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. Fisher didn't expect that.
Fisher trying to keep a closed guard but Alves is proving a slippery customer.

Alves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Fisher is retaining full guard.

Fisher had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fisher Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alves's back instead.
Fisher thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

A lull in the action here.

Alves rolls, trying to escape but Fisher keeps control of the position.
Fisher is controlling the position but Alves somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fisher swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alves ducks under a wild hook from Fisher.
Fisher tries to clinch there but Alves circles away.
Fisher throws a shot to the body.
Alves is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fisher is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Alves can't fight it off and eventually Fisher manages to take the fight to the floor. Alves looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fisher slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fisher throws a strike aimed at the side of Alves's head but Alves avoids it well.
Fisher is looking to take a break and control but Alves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fisher grinds an elbow into Alves's temple.
Fisher tries to score with some ground and pound. Alves controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Fisher connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alves some visible discomfort.

Fisher wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fisher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alves pinned against the cage. Alves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Fisher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alves keeps working.

Alves is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Fisher pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

George Fisher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Fisher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
