Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Hedman Karlsson (ranked 466 p4p, 72 weight class) and Russell Northrop (ranked 1051 p4p, 133 weight class). Northrop comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Alive And Kicking kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedman Karlsson throws a hook to the side of Northrop's head but Northrop sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Northrop shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hedman Karlsson clinches up with Northrop and pushes him back against the cage.

Hedman Karlsson has a couple of punches blocked by Northrop.
Northrop fails to pull guard.
Hedman Karlsson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hedman Karlsson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Northrop blocks it with crossed arms.
Northrop tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hedman Karlsson smiles and moves away.
Oliver Hedman Karlsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Northrop.

I was talking to Hedman Karlsson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Northrop ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Northrop no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hedman Karlsson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Northrop has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hedman Karlsson is looking to defend but Northrop has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hedman Karlsson! Northrop pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hedman Karlsson taps out and this one is all over!

Russell Northrop really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that RAGS of a RONIN logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
