Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zaurbek Akhmedov (ranked 2766 p4p, 253 weight class) and Nikolai Kovalenko (ranked 4150 p4p, 0 weight class). Akhmedov comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalenko misses with a lunging right hand
and Akhmedov counters with a right hand to the body.
Kovalenko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Akhmedov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kovalenko blocks a jab.
Akhmedov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Akhmedov throws a lazy right hand but Kovalenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nikolai Kovalenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kovalenko drops his hands momentarily and Akhmedov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kovalenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Akhmedov lands a nice looking body shot.
Kovalenko looks winded!
Kovalenko gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Akhmedov gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
