Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russel Bronson (ranked 8424 p4p, 706 weight class) and Schael Walker (ranked 4245 p4p, 524 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Bronson with that takedown attempt.
Bronson slips a jab from Walker.
Bronson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Walker! But no joy.
Bronson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Walker cracks Bronson with a right hand to the side of the head.

Bronson lands a head kick. Walker smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Bronson shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bronson is trying to pull guard but Walker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Walker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

With the fighters up against the cage, Walker throws an elbow but misses.
Bronson prevents Walker from breaking the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
