Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russel Bronson (ranked 8424 p4p, 706 weight class) and Schael Walker (ranked 4245 p4p, 524 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russel Bronson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Schael Walker! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Bronson with that takedown attempt. Bronson slips a jab from Walker. Bronson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Walker! But no joy. Bronson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Walker cracks Bronson with a right hand to the side of the head. Walker lands with a shot to the body. Bronson lands a head kick. Walker smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Bronson shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Walker forces Bronson back against the cage and clinches. Walker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bronson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russel Bronson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bronson is trying to pull guard but Walker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walker lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bronson backwards. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Walker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Walker scores with a nice hook to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bronson.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bronson is trying to pull guard but Walker has him pressed against the cage. Walker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bronson backwards. Walker makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Walker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bronson backwards. A short right from Walker. With the fighters up against the cage, Walker throws an elbow but misses. Bronson prevents Walker from breaking the clinch. Walker tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Walker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Bronson is rocked! Bronson pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Bronson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bronson is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Bronson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker looking for a sweep. Not yet Walker, not yet. Bronson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Walker wants to stand and escape but Bronson is having none of it. Bronson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bronson lands a couple of digs. Bronson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Bronson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Walker wants to sweep here but Bronson controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bronson dives into side control.
Walker looking for a sweep but Bronson has passed into full mount! Oh no! Walker is trying to reverse the position but instead Bronson has taken his back - oops! Walker is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Bronson is hanging on to Walker's back as he tries to escape.
Walker is trying to get to his feet but he's left his neck exposed and Bronson manages to sink in a rear naked choke! Great counter grappling by Bronson!
