Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frik Van Wyk (ranked 6625 p4p, 220 weight class) and Oelton Medeiros (ranked 3915 p4p, 150 weight class). Van Wyk comes into the arena with Ska-Rumba blaring out of the sound system. Frik Van Wyk has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Wyk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Medeiros's guard.
Medeiros can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Van Wyk controls the pace.
Van Wyk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Medeiros for as long as he can get away with.
Van Wyk won't allow Medeiros to get back to his feet.

Van Wyk's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Van Wyk has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Van Wyk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Medeiros wants to control but Van Wyk is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Van Wyk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medeiros is just riding it out for now. Van Wyk eventually gives up the hold.
Medeiros is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Van Wyk in particular looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Medeiros is trying to stand up here but Van Wyk is controlling him well.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Van Wyk ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Van Wyk no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Medeiros is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

In his post fight interview, Frik Van Wyk started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
