Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kieran Mistry!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis walks into a jab.
Mistry scores with a nice strike.
Mistry slips under a jab from Pettis.
Pettis moves out of range of the strikes.
Pettis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mistry throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A slow jab from Mistry misses its intended target.
Pettis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mistry tries to avoid it but Pettis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mistry to the ground. Mistry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pettis swings widly with a right hand
and Mistry counters with a one-two to the body.
Mistry looks to score with a jab to the body but Pettis is just out of range.
Mistry lunges at Pettis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pettis's hand.
Mistry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
An attempted straight right counter from Pettis misses the target.
Mistry throws a body punch but Pettis moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mistry takes a swing at Pettis's ribcage but misses.

Pettis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mistry quickly recovers to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pettis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pettis uses his free foot to push down on Mistry's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mistry.
Mistry wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Pettis has good solid back control here.
Mistry wants to get back to his feet.
Pettis trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Mistry doesn't escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mistry is trying to get back to his feet but Pettis has full control of the position and if anything, Mistry has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Mistry is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Pettis sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Mistry has no choice but to tap and Pettis jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Anthony Pettis!
Anthony Pettis seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
