Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mon Ster (ranked 1549 p4p, 157 weight class) and Paul Henderson (ranked 2733 p4p, 260 weight class). Ster comes to the cage accompanied by The Automatic - Monster. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Paul Henderson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mon Ster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ster throws a front kick that sends Henderson stumbling back into the cage.
Henderson throws a hook to the side of Ster's head but Ster sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ster will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Henderson swings widly with a right hand
and Ster counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Henderson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ster comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ster throws an overhand right that lands on Henderson's shoulder, as Henderson tries to avoid the shot.
Henderson throws a big shot that misses.
Ster thinks about countering with a body kick.
Ster thuds his right hand into Henderson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ster connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Ster misses with a hook. Henderson ducked under it nicely.
Henderson lands with a good body shot.
Ster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Henderson was well out of range. Poor timing from Ster.
Ster throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ster scores with a leg kick.
Ster looks to throw the jab but Henderson is out of range.
Henderson feints the counter takedown.
Ster swings and misses with a shot to the body
enabling Henderson to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Mon Ster has been cut.
Ster takes a swing at Henderson's ribcage but misses.

Henderson misses with a hook. Ster ducked under it nicely.
Henderson lands a nice hook to Ster's body. Ster takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fighters circling - Henderson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
It looked like Ster wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ster takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Henderson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ster cracks Henderson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ster moves out of range as Henderson strikes.
Henderson misses with a left hand

and Ster moves into the clinch.
Ster blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Ster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ster feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Henderson's calf.
Henderson loads up on a big right hand but Ster slips the punch.
Ster chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Henderson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Henderson throws a hook but Ster avoids it easily.
Ster ducks under a wild hook from Henderson.
Henderson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ster counters with a slapping leg kick.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ster tries to clinch up but Henderson circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice defenses there by Ster.
Ster throws a lazy right hand but Henderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A nice side step and Henderson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Ster ducks under a wild hook from Henderson.
Mon Ster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ster swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A telegraphed right hand from Henderson misses the target.
Henderson connects with a body shot that sends Ster's belly button to the back.
Henderson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ster at a distance.
Henderson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ster cracks Henderson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Henderson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ster.

Henderson gets a takedown into half guard.
Henderson wants to take a breather but Ster is having none of it.

Henderson wants to free his trapped foot but Ster is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ster doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Henderson.
Ster moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Henderson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Henderson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ster keeps working.
Ster wants to get back to his feet.
Henderson wants to free his trapped foot but Ster is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ster is trying to stand.
Henderson prevents Ster from improving his position.
Ster trying to control but Henderson postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mon Ster will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mon Ster's cut.

and Ster counters with a nice low kick that buckles Henderson's knee momentarily.
Henderson throws the left hand but Ster avoids the punch easily.
Ster tries to clinch up but Henderson circles away and keeps his distance.
Ster bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Henderson throws a looping overhand right but Ster ducks down to avoid it.
Ster keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ster went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Ster feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Henderson's calf.
Crunch! Ster slams his shin into Henderson's torso.
A big right from Henderson misses.
Ster connects with an inside leg kick.
Henderson misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ster lands with an overhand left.
A slow jab from Henderson misses its intended target.
Ster is looking to counter the offense by Henderson and move into the clinch.
Ster takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ster smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ster moves away from the strike by Henderson.
Henderson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
We've been told by Ster's head coaches at Team Beta Fail that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Henderson avoids a kick to the body.
Ster on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A swing and a miss from Henderson.
Ster plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Paul Henderson has been cut.

Ster gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Henderson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Henderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ster is keeping the position for now.
Henderson looking to sit in guard and control but Ster gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ster works over Henderson with some ground and pound from guard.

Henderson is working an open guard so Ster takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ster moves out of range of the strikes.
Ster tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Henderson manages to circle out of the way.

Henderson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Still in the clinch, Ster scores with a nice short uppercut.

Henderson has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Ster seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Henderson can turn it around.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Ster lands a left and a right that sends Henderson crashing to the canvas! Ster dives into mount looking to finish!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Ster! Henderson is hurt baaadly! Ster is firing away with more strikes - Henderson is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mon Ster!
