Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poro Peukalo (ranked 1343 p4p, 138 weight class) and Nick Cotton (ranked 528 p4p, 54 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peukalo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Peukalo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cotton is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Peukalo with a body shot.
Cotton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Peukalo on his heels. He'll look to pass Peukalo's guard now, I'm sure.
Peukalo has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Cotton has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Cotton jumps guard but Peukalo stands there with Cotton around his waist. Cotton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

I was talking to Peukalo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Cotton lands a hook to the side of the head.
A nice left hand lands by Cotton.
Cotton throws a punch but it's blocked by Peukalo.
Cotton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peukalo walks away with a smile on his face. Cotton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Peukalo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cotton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cotton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Peukalo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Cotton presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

During a confident post fight interview, Nick Cotton thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
