Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between River William (ranked 25327 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zachary Scedary (ranked 7315 p4p, 0 weight class). William kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Holding on for Life. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, River William! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zachary Scedary! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! William explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Scedary avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scedary changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Scedary tries to land a front kick but William steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Scedary takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
William shoots in and drives through. Scedary sprawls well. William lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
William throws a sloppy head kick and Scedary moves out of range easily. William closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Zachary Scedary has been cut. A head kick misses from William. William tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A solid leg kick lands there for William.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! William looks for a takedown but Scedary sprawls well. River William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scedary shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Scedary gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Scedary. William darts in looking for a takedown but Scedary gets double underhooks and turns William into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for River William. That's going to take a lot out of him. A momentary lapse in concentration from William enables Scedary to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. William manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. William is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Scedary gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Scedary looking to score a takedown here. William is defending well but Scedary drives through and ends up in William's guard. William pushes Scedary off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. William takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice combination there by William.
Scedary feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Scedary is stalling in the full guard. William wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Scedary is now in half guard. William is breathing heavily. William wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Scedary in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. William has one foot on Scedary's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Scedary forces William back against the cage and clinches. William drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
William has had enough of the clinch but Scedary keeps him there for the moment. Scedary stalling in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Scedary. Knees to the body from Scedary.
Scedary gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, William regains guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. William is working an open guard so Scedary takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Scedary fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with William, pushing him back against the cage. William is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Scedary softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scedary has William pressed against the cage, preventing William from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Scedary manages to break the clinch.
Scedary shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scedary was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! William is looking to get back to his feet here but Scedary is keeping cool and he's managed to take William's back. Scedary controlling the position well here. William rolled but Scedary kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that River William will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Zachary Scedary's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
William throws a body kick that misses. William throws a lazy head kick and Scedary counters with a nice kick to the body. William finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
William takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. William looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Scedary pushes William off and scrambles back to his feet.
Scedary fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Scedary shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scedary was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Scedary working the ground and pound. William is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Scedary is controlling him well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scedary stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scedary closes the distance and clinches. Scedary turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Scedary manages to end up in side control. Scedary working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. William is pushing Scedary's head away, looking to escape. Scedary manages to hold on to the position though. Scedary decides to stand back up. Scedary steps back and let's William get back to his feet. Scedary looks for a takedown but William sprawls well. Scedary fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. William slaps away a takedown attempt from Scedary, before circling back to the center of the mat. River William has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zachary Scedary. William tries to close the distance and clinch but Scedary swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. William throws a head kick that misses. William shoots in looking for a takedown. Scedary tries to sprawl out of it but William keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scedary manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A head kick by William misses and Scedary counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for William! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scedary stands up and we're back to a striking position. Scedary shoots in for a takedown but William shows good takedown defense. William throws a combination. Scedary tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Scedary clinches up against the cage. Scedary lands a knee to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scedary lands a nice elbow from the clinch. William looking for a takedown. Scedary wants the takedown. William is fighting it off but Scedary persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in William's guard against the cage. Scedary slips nicely into half guard. Scedary decides to stand up. Scedary shoots in but no luck this time. William misses with the combination.
William lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

William lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Scedary shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has William pinned against the cage. William gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. William shoots for a takedown but Scedary saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. William lands with a right hand. Scedary checks a leg kick. William throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Scedary. Scedary moves out of range of the body kick. Scedary feints and as William raises his hands in defense, Scedary changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Scedary connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Zachary Scedary will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Zachary Scedary's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Scedary misses with a takedown attempt - William sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. William will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Excellent takedown into side control there by Scedary. Scedary controls the position from side control. Scedary is working to tighten his grip on William's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. William has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Scedary is really squeezing tight and eventually William passes out! Scedary breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
