Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earnest Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Walker!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Walker counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Earnest Hicks has been cut.

Walker gets tackled into the cage by Hicks. Hicks maintains the clinch.
Walker lands a right hand.
Walker lands with a short shot to the head.
Hicks is trying to drag Walker to the mat but Walker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Walker is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earnest Hicks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hicks was covering up waiting for the punch and Walker finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Walker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hicks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hicks looking for a sweep. Not yet Hicks, not yet.

Hicks working for a triangle but Walker defends it easily.
Walker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Walker working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hicks's head.
Walker content to stall in guard here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Walker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hicks, up you get!

Walker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hicks to the mat! Hicks manages to get full guard.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Hicks is keeping the position.
Walker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Walker is looking to work some ground and pound but Hicks has wrist control.
Walker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Walker won't allow Hicks to sweep him here.

Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hicks has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Walker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hicks.
Hicks is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hicks is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Hicks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Walker staying calm.
Walker is putting a hurting on Hicks here, landing some big shots from side control.

Walker happy to just control the position for now.

Walker swings around for an armbar but Hicks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Walker's guard.

Walker looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hicks passes into side control.
Walker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hicks's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Walker dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hicks misses with a low kick.

Walker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hicks throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Walker forces Hicks back against the cage and clinches.

Hicks gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Walker regains guard.

Walker has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hicks off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Walker prevents Hicks from breaking the clinch.

Walker breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Walker has closed the distance and engaged Hicks in a clinch.
Hicks has Walker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Walker lands a nice knee to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walker has hold of one of Hicks's legs. Hicks is fighting the takedown attempt but Walker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Walker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hicks's head.

Walker is in close to Hicks's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Walker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hicks's guard.

Walker stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hicks to get to his feet.

Walker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hicks is looking to get back to is feet but Walker passes into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Walker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hicks tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Walker presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walker looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Walker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Walker is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Walker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Walker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walker lands a big elbow.


Hicks is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Walker shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Hicks is on queer street and Walker is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Andre Walker!
