PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarred Hyde (ranked 24864 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Turd (ranked 7351 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lee Turd was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lee Turd!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyde tries to clinch up.
Turd swats away the attempt to clinch by Hyde.
Turd throws a right and a left that Hyde avoids nicely.

Turd pushes Hyde up against the cage in a clinch.

Hyde wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Turd has him pressed against the cage.
Turd tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hyde just stands there and leans against the cage.
Turd is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turd is working for takedown but Hyde is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jarred Hyde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Turd.

Turd scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Turd doesn't manage to clinch there - Hyde circles away.

Turd closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hyde circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Hyde misses its target.
Turd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hyde as he jumps to the side.
A little feinted left hand from Hyde on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Turd misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Turd looks winded!

Hyde has Turd up against the cage in a clinch.
Turd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hyde is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hyde pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hyde stuffs the takedown attempt from Turd. Turd gets slowly back to his feet.

Hyde closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Turd did well to prevent Hyde getting side control.
Turd pushes Hyde off but Hyde dives into side control.
Hyde wants to stand but Turd has his arm trapped.
Check out the look on Hyde's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Hyde scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Turd to see if he's OK.

Turd wants to control but Hyde postures up.

Hyde throws a strike aimed at the side of Turd's head but Turd avoids it well.
Hyde could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hyde in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Turd dodges the ground and pound from Hyde.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hyde tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hyde has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hyde wants to get back to striking at distance but Turd won't allow it.
Hyde is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turd can do to turn this around?

Lee Turd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turd stuffs the takedown.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hyde tries to break the clinch but Turd is controlling the position.
Turd tries to score a body lock takedown but Hyde shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Turd is looking to stand up but Hyde isn't so interested in that idea.
Hyde throws a big elbow that misses.
Turd controls Hyde momentarily but Hyde frees himself.
Turd tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Turd wants to hit a switch here but Hyde passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Turd there!
Turd wants to hold on but Hyde pushes him away.
Jarred Hyde overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Turd tries to lock up and control but Hyde gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hyde has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hyde lands a heavy elbow.
Hyde avoids the attempt from Turd to control.
Turd is trying desperately to improve position.
Turd is breathing heavily.
Hyde with a couple of short strikes.

Turd bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Turd is pushing down on Hyde's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hyde is fighting to maintain full guard but Turd has managed to sneak the leg through.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hyde throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Turd tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hyde is in Turd's guard.

Turd is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hyde presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hyde has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Turd uses from the top position.
Hyde is trying to hold Turd in close to prevent damage but Turd has managed to pass into half guard.
Turd wants to take a breather but Hyde is having none of it.
Turd looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Turd decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Turd prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hyde escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hyde moves in looking to clinch but Turd pushes him off.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hyde checks a leg kick.
Turd fails with a takedown attempt.
Turd moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Hyde moves into range and clinches up with Turd.

Hyde manages to break the clinch.

Turd moves into the clinch successfully.
Turd jumps guard but Hyde stands there with Turd around his waist. Turd gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Turd drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Turd tries to pull guard but Hyde holds him up against the cage and eventually Turd drops back down to his feet.

Turd looks to land a combination. Hyde sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Turd looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hyde forces Turd back against the cage and clinches.

Turd stuffs the takedown.
Turd tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Turd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hyde pinned against the cage. Hyde gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Turd shoots for a double leg takedown but Hyde sprawls well. He's pushed Turd's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hyde clinches with his opponent.

Hyde is trying to trip Turd. He has hold of a leg but Turd is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hyde persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hyde wants to stand but Turd has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lee Turd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jarred Hyde is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Turd is working an open guard so Hyde takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jarred Hyde.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hyde, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
