The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Phillips goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Kurchinu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Phillips to keep the fight standing.

Kurchinu tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Phillips smiles and moves away.
Kyrie Phillips has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sapushi Kurchinu.

Kurchinu shoots in and bounces Phillips off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kurchinu postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Phillips's head off the mat! Phillips is out! He's out! Kurchinu jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
