Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blake Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mikey Boi! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Green on his heels. He'll look to pass Green's guard now, I'm sure. Boi scoring with some ground and pound. Green can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boi controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Boi is in close to Green's body, working some short punches and elbows. Boi works a leg free and moves into half guard. Boi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boi pulls his head out easily. Boi controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looks like Boi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Green trying to hold on to Boi's head to control him but Boi postures up.

Boi drops an elbow to the side of Green's head. Green really is a fat lump. Green looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Boi performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Boi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Boi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Green looking for submissions off his back. Boi is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Boi lands a nice short elbow. Boi controlling the action here. Boi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Green sees it coming and defends easily. Boi is taking a breather. Green says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Boi is continuing to stall. Green is looking for a sweep. Boi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Boi controlling the action here. Boi working over Green with some ground and pound. Green looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boi trying to control the pace. Boi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Green is trying to get back to full guard. Boi stalling. More stalling from Boi. Green is trying to maintain the position but Boi is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Boi slows the pace down in half guard. Boi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Boi controlling the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ground and pound from Boi. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikey Boi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Boi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Boi controlling from the top position. Boi with more of the same as he continues to hold on. Green is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boi controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Boi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The adventures of Boi the control monster continue. Boring.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mikey Boi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boi leaves Green with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Green gets caught flat footed, as Boi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Boi is stalling in the full guard. Green is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boi lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boi slips nicely into half guard. Boi is looking for a kimura here.
Boi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Boi is thwarting Green's attempts to control the position. Well, if Boi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Green trying to control but Boi postures up.
Boi with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Boi prevents Green from improving his position. Boi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Green with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikey Boi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Boi drives through with a takedown into guard. Boi controls from within his opponent's guard. Boi tries to free his leg and advance position but Green is retaining full guard. Boi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Green trying to keep a closed guard but Boi is proving a slippery customer.
Mikey Boi has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Green being controlled for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green tries to improve position but can't. Green takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Boi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Green, who protects the arm well. Boi scores with a couple of short elbows. Boi taking a breather here. Green is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Boi controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Green to see if he's OK. Green takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Boi just content to control the position. Green might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Boi. Green is looking for a sweep. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Boi lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Boi takes a little break here. Green wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Boi landing strikes. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Yet more stalling tactics from Boi. Boi working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boi controlling the position from side mount. Boi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boi is working to tighten his grip on Green's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Green has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Boi is really squeezing tight and eventually Green passes out! Boi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
