Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DeeJay Kawana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Madoka Yuhara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, DeeJay Kawana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Madoka Yuhara! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawana fails with an attempt to clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Yuhara. Kawana tries to buck Yuhara off but Yuhara is having none of it. Yuhara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kawana keeps working. Yuhara tries to score with some ground and pound. Kawana controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Yuhara controls the position from side control.
Yuhara thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kawana is looking to regain half guard here but Yuhara keeps moving and retains side control. Kawana is trying to get back to his feet.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yuhara closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kawana throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Yuhara working away. Yuhara throws a strike aimed at the side of Kawana's head but Kawana avoids it well. Kawana struggling a bit here. Kawana is trying to buck Yuhara off. Yuhara has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kawana tries to buck Yuhara off but Yuhara is having none of it. Yuhara lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kawana down.
Kawana is not content to let Yuhara control the position.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yuhara gets a clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kawana has had enough of the clinch but Yuhara keeps him there for the moment. Kawana looking for a takedown. Kawana fails to pull guard.
Kawana is breathing heavily.
Yuhara pulls Kawana into guard.
Yuhara is looking for a triangle but Kawana pushes his legs off easily.
Kawana wants to control from the top but Yuhara keeps moving. Kawana has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Yuhara looking for a sweep. Not yet Yuhara, not yet. Kawana postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Yuhara is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kawana really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawana stopping the sweep attempt from Yuhara. Yuhara looking to control.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kawana gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Yuhara wants to control from the top but Kawana keeps moving. Kawana doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Yuhara trying to control the position from guard on top but Kawana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kawana working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yuhara.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Yuhara content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kawana keeping moving, preventing Yuhara from controlling successfully.
Kawana had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Yuhara is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kawana Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Yuhara's back instead. Yuhara breaks Kawana's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kawana throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kawana gets caught flat footed, as Yuhara shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kawana looking for a sweep. Not yet Kawana, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Madoka Yuhara dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Yuhara. Kawana wants to clinch but Yuhara slips to the side
and Yuhara counters with a single leg into guard. Kawana didn't expect that. Kawana is trying to keep Yuhara in close.
Yuhara slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Kawana. Kawana tries to get to full guard but Yuhara has control of the leg. Yuhara is tying to control. Kawana wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kawana is in trouble now - Yuhara has advanced to mount!
Yuhara looking to secure an arm triangle but Kawana defends it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yuhara moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kawana has worked his arm free - good work by Kawana!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kawana manages to work his way to half guard, despite Yuhara's best efforts.
Yuhara is working for a submission of some sort.
Yuhara is trying to control the action in half guard but Kawana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. It looks like Yuhara is going to stand back up.
Yuhara is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kawana is trying to control but can't.
Yuhara wants to work for an arm triangle but Kawana is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kawana tries to roll over but Yuhara keeps him under control.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kawana explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Yuhara drops back looking for a leg! Kawana is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kawana manages to kick Yuhara off! Yuhara jumps back into Kawana's guard. Kawana looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yuhara is one step ahead there.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawana throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Yuhara gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Yuhara closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kawana is looking to escape. Kawana is trying to get back to full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawana gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawana throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Yuhara wants to pass the guard but Kawana is keeping the position. Yuhara controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kawana doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Madoka Yuhara showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
No luck for Yuhara with that takedown attempt.
Yuhara shoots in and bounces Kawana off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kawana trying to keep a closed guard but Yuhara is proving a slippery customer.
Kawana wants to sweep but no luck. Yuhara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kawana swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yuhara stopping the sweep attempt from Kawana.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Yuhara trying to control but Kawana is working from the bottom. Kawana trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Kawana looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawana wants to stand up but Yuhara is controlling him. Kawana manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawana lands a nice shot to the head. Madoka Yuhara has got the better of the ground game so far. Kawana misses with a head shot. Yuhara can't escape the position.
Kawana lands a heavy elbow. Yuhara tries to hold on but Kawana pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kawana is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kawana landing punches. Kawana avoids the attempt from Yuhara to control. Yuhara is looking to get to half guard. Yuhara manages to regain half guard. Good work. DeeJay Kawana has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Yuhara trying to hold on to Kawana's head to control him but Kawana postures up.
Kawana prevents Yuhara from improving his position. Yuhara is refusing to be controlled, as Kawana sits in half guard. Yuhara wants to get back to his feet.
Kawana is keen to just control but Yuhara is a slippery customer. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yuhara trying to control here.
Madoka Yuhara is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
