Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Pending (ranked 8979 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 2495 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

22 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis lands with a thumping leg kick.

Pettis lands with a good body shot. Left hook, right uppercut from Pettis. Pettis lands a jab to Pending's midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A decent looking cross lands there for Pettis. Good standup being displayed there by Pettis as he connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pending drops his hands momentarily and Pettis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pettis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pending's half guard. Pettis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Pettis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Pending is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Pettis jumps into side control! Pettis slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pettis is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Pending won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Pettis off his unconscious opponent!
