Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Butabi (ranked 477 p4p, 69 weight class) and Ross Warring (ranked 843 p4p, 113 weight class). Butabi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Make That Money. Warring is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sleep Now in the Fire. Steve Butabi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Butabi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Warring! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warring scores with a nice right hand.
Butabi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Warring tries to avoid it but Butabi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Warring to the ground. Warring escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Warring missing with a left hand there. Butabi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Butabi tries to keep at a distance but Warring has taken the fight into the clinch. Warring breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Warring lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Butabi misses with a hook. Warring ducked under it nicely. Nice defenses there by Warring. Warring slips a straight right by Butabi. Warring lands with a right hand. The fight stays on the outside here - Warring looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butabi throws out a loose jab but Warring uses good head movement to avoid it. Butabi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Warring looks for the body kick but Butabi saw that one coming. Butabi shoots in but no luck this time. Steve Butabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butabi thows a left - swing and a miss! A slow jab from Butabi misses its intended target. Butabi drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Butabi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Warring looking for a sweep. Not yet Warring, not yet. Butabi wants to control from the top but Warring keeps moving. Warring tries to land a sweep but no joy. Warring keeping moving, preventing Butabi from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Warring is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Butabi is controlling him. Butabi is looking to work some ground and pound but Warring has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Butabi wants to control from the top but Warring keeps moving. Warring pulls Butabi in to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Butabi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Warring is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Butabi with a body shot. Butabi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Warring's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Warring managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Butabi.
Butabi working away. Warring felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Warring tries to get back to half guard but can't. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Butabi sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Warring is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Warring is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Butabi has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Warring! Butabi has hold of Warring's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Warring manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Butabi raining down shots from the mount! Warring is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Butabi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Warring keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Warring wants to control but Butabi is having none of it.

Butabi thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Butabi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Warring has worked his arm free - good work by Warring!

Butabi in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Butabi throws an elbow but Warring slips to the side and avoids it well. Butabi landing a few strikes. Butabi tries to score with some ground and pound. Warring controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Warring can't do much from the bottom here. A lull in the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Butabi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Butabi pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Butabi is defended easily by Warring. A looping hook to the body misses from Warring. Butabi does a little dance to reset his feet. Warring slips under a jab from Butabi. Butabi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Warring defends it nicely. Butabi loads up on a big right hand but Warring slips the punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butabi misses with a straight right. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Warring! But no joy. Warring throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A quick step to the side and Butabi tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Warring throws a series of strikes that have Butabi backpedaling.

That's one minute gone in the round. Warring looks to land a left hand but Butabi moved out of range nicely. Butabi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Warring. Butabi tries for a takedown but Warring circles away easily and Warring counters with a left and a right that stings Butabi. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Butabi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Butabi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Butabi looks to score with a jab to the body but Warring is just out of range. Warring looks to land a left hand but Butabi moved out of range nicely. Butabi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Warring throws out the jab. Warring steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Butabi. Jab from Warring. Butabi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Ross Warring seems to be getting the better of the standup. Warring uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Butabi misses the shot to the body. Warring tries to move into range but Butabi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Warring clobbers Butabi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Butabi tries to work over Warring's front leg with a kick but Warring checks it. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Warring! But no joy. Warring doesn't manage to clinch there - Butabi circles away.
Warring blocks a low kick nicely. A momentary lapse in concentration from Warring enables Butabi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Warring manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Butabi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Butabi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Warring is keeping the position for now. Warring is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Warring holds on and takes a little breather. Butabi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Warring works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Butabi won't allow Warring to sweep him here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Warring scores with the left hand. Butabi knows he should have avoided that one. Butabi throws a body punch but Warring moves out of range. Warring throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Butabi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Warring, as that shot connected.
No joy there for Warring, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Donk. Warring catches Butabi right on the button with a cross. Warring lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Warring. Butabi scores with a body shot.
Butabi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Warring connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Butabi scrambles back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Warring moves in looking to clinch but Butabi pushes him off. A looping hook to the body misses from Butabi. Warring does a little dance to reset his feet. Butabi misses with a wild body shot. Warring swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Butabi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Warring. Warring takes one to the side of the head.

Ross Warring showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Butabi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Warring counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Warring misses with a wild body shot. Warring might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Warring keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Butabi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Warring has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Butabi looks to land a right hand but Warring moved out of range. It seemed like Warring was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Butabi fails with a takedown attempt.
