Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robby Kinner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gunboat Sterling!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sterling looks to score with a jab to the body but Kinner is just out of range.
Kinner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kinner shoots in but no luck this time.
Kinner looks for a takedown but Sterling sprawls well.
Kinner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robby Kinner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sterling misses with a double jab

and Kinner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sterling won't be happy with that.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sterling has eaten all the pies!

Kinner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sterling rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kinner's guard! Nice work there by Sterling!
Sterling wants to control from the top but Kinner keeps moving.

Kinner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sterling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kinner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sterling manages to get himself to full guard.
Sterling is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kinner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kinner passes Sterling's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kinner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sterling does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sterling works his way to full guard. Good work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sterling is on top in guard.
Kinner is breathing heavily.
Kinner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kinner isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sterling stacks Kinner on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sterling!

Sterling trying to control the action but Kinner is working from the bottom.
Kinner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kinner manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sterling's best efforts.
Sterling is just content to waste time from the top position. Kinner takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kinner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kinner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sterling trying to control the position from guard on top but Kinner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sterling stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kinner throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sterling uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robby Kinner dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sterling swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kinner counters with a nice body kick.
A nice combination there by Sterling.


It looks like Robby Kinner has been cut.
Kinner tries a head kick but it misses.
Sterling tries to clinch but Kinner is having none of it.
Sterling misses with a double jab.
Sterling misses with a low kick.
Sterling misses with a low kick.
Kinner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sterling's waist but Sterling gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kinner off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kinner shoots in looking for a takedown. Sterling tries to sprawl out of it but Kinner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sterling manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sterling wants to clinch up but Kinner keeps it at a distance.
Left hook, right uppercut from Sterling.
Sterling scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Kinner misses with a head kick.
Kinner tries to clinch
and Sterling counters with a one-two to the body.
Kinner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kinner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kinner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Sterling shoots for a takedown but Kinner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Sterling counters with a stiff right hand.

Kinner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sterling misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sterling shoots in for a takedown but Kinner shows good takedown defense.

Kinner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sterling wants to get back to full guard.
Sterling regains full guard. Nicely done.

Kinner stands up and waves to Sterling to follow him.

Sterling misses with a two punch combination.
Sterling tries to clinch but Kinner moves away

and Kinner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kinner.
Kinner stands and throws Sterling's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sterling is trying to buck Kinner off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kinner has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sterling is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kinner yanks on the arm and Sterling is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kinner.
