Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Damian Douglas (ranked 5633 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valdinei Pereirinha (ranked 6756 p4p, 234 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damian Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Valdinei Pereirinha!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereirinha misses with an uppercut
and Douglas counters with a slapping leg kick.
Valdinei Pereirinha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pereirinha moves into the clinch.
Douglas tries to pull guard but Pereirinha forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Douglas is trying to pull guard but Pereirinha turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Pereirinha wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Douglas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pereirinha walks away with a smile on his face. Douglas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pereirinha shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Douglas defends it nicely.
It looked like Douglas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Douglas fails to land the takedown.
Douglas dives in and grabs Pereirinha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pereirinha pushes down on Douglas's head and hops out.

and Douglas counters with a slapping leg kick.

Pereirinha moves into range and clinches up with Douglas.
Douglas wants to break free but Pereirinha has control.
Douglas drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pereirinha pulls his leg out and moves away.
Douglas lands with a slapping head kick.

Pereirinha rushes Douglas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pereirinha jumps guard.
Douglas won't allow Pereirinha to get back to his feet.
Pereirinha working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Douglas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pereirinha utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pereirinha preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pereirinha is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Douglas is controlling him.
Douglas with a nice head shot there.
Douglas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Douglas is posturing up here but Pereirinha has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Douglas tries to roll out but it's too tight and Douglas has to tap! Slick submission there by Pereirinha!
