Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diamond Dick (ranked 6214 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Rothstein (ranked 6640 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diamond Dick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Rothstein!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rothstein closes the distance and clinches up with Dick, looking for a takedown. Rothstein pushes Dick against the cage but Dick circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dick fails in his attempt to clinch.
Diamond Dick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dick tries for a takedown but Rothstein sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dick tries to clinch there but Rothstein circles away.
Rothstein is looking for the big counter here.
Rothstein tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dick defends well and Rothstein ends up having to push Dick into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dick throws a series of punches but Rothstein avoids them all with ease.
Rothstein checks a low kick from Dick.
A nice side step and Rothstein releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Dick keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Diamond Dick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Rothstein.
Rothstein avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rothstein tries to score with a low kick but Dick moves his leg out of the way.
Dick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rothstein takes the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rothstein takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Rothstein on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Dick wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Dick blocks the elbow strike.
Rothstein misses with a punch to the body.

Rothstein manages to pull guard.
Dick trying to control but Rothstein is working from the bottom.
Dick pushes down on Rothstein's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Rothstein wants to improve his position but Dick is controlling well.
Dick is keen to just control but Rothstein is a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dick postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rothstein to stand up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dick is defended easily by Rothstein.
Dick lands a right hook to the body.
Dick shoots and misses

and Rothstein holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Rothstein breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rothstein showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dick.
Rothstein tries to counter by closing the distance.
Dick blocks a head kick by Rothstein.
Rothstein looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rothstein fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dick, pushing him back against the cage.
Dick is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rothstein to keep the fight standing.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Dick wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rothstein goes for a takedown attempt but Dick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rothstein fails with a takedown attempt.
Dick misses with a combination

and Rothstein counters by clinching up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A right hook to the body lands for Rothstein.

Rothstein pulls guard.

Rothstein has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rothstein.

Dick is working to tighten his grip on Rothstein's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rothstein has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dick is really squeezing tight and eventually Rothstein passes out! Dick breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Diamond Dick!
