Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shinobu Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinobu Hayabusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hans Gruber!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Gruber or perhaps it was just good defense by Hayabusa which made him look bad.
Gruber fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hayabusa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gruber is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hayabusa is controlling him well.
Gruber is looking for a sweep.
Gruber is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gruber wants to control but Hayabusa postures up.
Hayabusa wants to stand but Gruber has his arm trapped.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hayabusa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gruber.

Gruber is looking for a sweep.
Gruber looks to move to half guard but instead Hayabusa has passed into mount! Damn!

Gruber drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hayabusa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gruber has Hayabusa in his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hayabusa wants to control the pace but Gruber is squirming around nicely.
Gruber is desperately trying to improve his position but Hayabusa has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gruber is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gruber manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hayabusa manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gruber decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hayabusa to his feet.
Hayabusa lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gruber will feel that in the morning.

Hans Gruber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gruber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hayabusa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hayabusa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gruber tries to close the distance and clinch but Hayabusa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hayabusa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hayabusa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gruber is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gruber looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Hayabusa counters with a shoot takedown. Gruber fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shinobu Hayabusa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gruber isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hayabusa stacks Gruber on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hayabusa!
Shinobu Hayabusa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Hayabusa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
