Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leondardo Song (ranked 5387 p4p, 456 weight class) and Marco Otto (ranked 5341 p4p, 451 weight class). Song comes to the cage accompanied by Oldboy OST - The Last Waltz. Leondardo Song has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leondardo Song! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Otto! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Otto gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Otto trying to control the position.
Song trying to control the position from guard on top but Otto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Song wants to pass the guard but Otto is keeping the position. Otto keeping moving, preventing Song from controlling successfully. Song won't allow Otto to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Song sitting in guard, not really doing much. Song trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Song wants to control from the top but Otto keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Otto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Song controls the pace.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Song shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Song was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Song tries to advance position but instead Otto slips a leg back in to half guard. Otto trying to control from the bottom.
Song is working for a submission of some sort.
Otto has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Otto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Song is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Song trying to control from Otto's half guard. Otto has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Song is looking to advance position but Otto has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Song is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Song has given up his back.
Otto is hanging on to Song's back as he tries to escape.
Otto is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Song is defending well though. Otto let's go of the attempt for now. Otto looking for the choke from the back. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Song tries to roll but Otto sticks to his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Song breaks Otto's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Song wants to pass the guard but Otto is keeping the position. Song is working hard here to advance position. Otto working for a triangle but Song defends it easily.
Otto is pulling down on Song's head to control his posture. Song stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Otto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Song wants to control from the top but Otto keeps moving. Otto trying to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Leondardo Song will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Otto tries to clinch but Song moves out of range. Song looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Song is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Otto can do to turn this around? Song has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Otto is squirming around, avoiding Song's attempts to control the action. Otto tries to hold on but Song postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Song content just to control the position here. Song forces the positional change into back control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Song working for a choke but Otto reverses nicely into Song 's guard. Song lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Song trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Otto manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Song keeping moving, preventing Otto from controlling successfully. Song looking for a guillotine here but Otto defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Otto won't allow Song to sweep him here. Song is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Song is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Otto trying to control but Song is working from the bottom. Song working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Otto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Otto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Song wants to sweep here but Otto controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otto trying to control but Song is working from the bottom. Leondardo Song overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Song can't keep his opponent in guard - Otto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Song wants to control but Otto is keeping busy and won't allow it. Otto trying to control the pace. Otto wants to pass the guard but Song is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Song is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Otto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Otto's back! Song looking for the RNC. Otto is really stuck here.
Song wants to control the position but Otto frees himself and scrambles - Song manages to regain control in side control.
Otto manages to work his way to half guard, despite Song's best efforts. Song looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Song is looking for a kimura but Otto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Song to get the leverage. Song wants to pass to mount but Otto is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leondardo Song dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Song closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Otto did well to prevent Song getting side control. Marco Otto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Otto trying to control here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Song wants to free his trapped foot but Otto is holding on for dear life with his legs. Otto is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Song is pressing down on Otto's thigh, looking to free his foot. Otto is holding on for now. Song is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Otto reverses the position - he's now on top in Song's guard. Song has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Otto is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Song. Song is looking to regain half guard here but Otto keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Otto politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Otto prefers to stall for the moment though. Otto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Song tries to bench press Otto off him but Otto keeps the position. Otto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Song is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Otto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Otto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leondardo Song. Well Song has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
