Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alvin Case (ranked 5699 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Hugman (ranked 4603 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alvin Case! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Hugman! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Case closes the distance and pushes Hugman back into the cage. Case could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Case taking a breather. Case slowing the pace effectively. Hugman gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hugman wants to take a breather but Case is having none of it. Case is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Case makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Case. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hugman looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Case has control of Hugman's left arm, preventing Hugman from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugman wants to control from the top but Case keeps moving. Hugman advances position into side control! Hugman is trying to ground and pound but Case uses the momentary lack of control by Hugman to regain half guard. Hugman is stalling here. Case is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hugman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Case has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Hugman misses with a strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hugman struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hugman tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Case avoids the attempt from Hugman to control. Case content just to control the position here. Case looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hugman working to try and regain half guard.
Hugman tries to lock up and control but Case gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hugman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Hugman tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hugman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Case's guard. Nice work there by Hugman.
Case keeping moving, preventing Hugman from controlling successfully. Hugman pushes down on Case's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hugman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hugman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Case does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alvin Case will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hugman drives through with a takedown into guard. Case trying to control the position here. Hugman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Case is keeping the position for now. Hugman has gone for a leg lock! Case slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hugman's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hugman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Case stacks Hugman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Case! Alvin Case overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hugman wants to control but Case postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugman is trying to improve his position. Hugman is trying to control Case's posture but Case avoids it. Hugman tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Case easily slips into full mount! Case controlling the pace for now. Case has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hugman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hugman can't escape the position.
Hugman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Case has the hooks in. Hugman is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hugman trying to control the hands but Case breaks the grip. Hugman tries to escape but Case has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Hugman turns into Case and is now in his guard.
Hugman looking to sit in guard and control but Case gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hugman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hugman looking for a guillotine here but Case defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hugman being controlled here, momentarily. Hugman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Case is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hugman. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hugman is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alvin Case dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Hugman just misses with a punch to the body.
Case throws a head kick that misses. Case closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Case lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hugman backwards. Case is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hugman can do to turn this around? Hugman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Case is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hugman trying to control but Case is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hugman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hugman tries to free his leg and advance position but Case is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugman looking to sit in guard and control but Case gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hugman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Case has passed into side control.
Hugman is trying to improve his position. Hugman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Case off and has taken his back! Case defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hugman's arms. Hugman is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Case won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Hugman off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hugo Hugman!
