Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Hossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Eduardo looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Hossa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Eduardo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hossa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Eduardo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hossa trying to control the position but Eduardo is working away.

Hossa stands up.

Hossa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Eduardo sprawls well initially but Hossa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hossa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eduardo on the ground.
Hossa wants to pass to mount but Eduardo is defending the position.

Hossa is looking for a kimura but Eduardo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hossa to get the leverage.
Hossa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Eduardo is refusing to be controlled, as Hossa sits in half guard.

Hossa gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Hossa rushes Eduardo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hossa breaks the clinch.
Hossa throws a series of punches but Eduardo moves out of range.
A nice combination there by Hossa.

and Hossa counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Eduardo!

Eduardo wants to hold on but Hossa pushes him away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Eduardo wants to control but Hossa is having none of it.

Hossa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hossa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Eduardo wants to control but Hossa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hossa tries to stand but can't do so whilst Eduardo controls his leg.
Hossa drops an elbow to the side of Eduardo's head.

Hossa stands up and beckons Eduardo to join him on the feet.

Hossa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hossa scores with a couple of short elbows.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Eduardo clinches but Hossa breaks the clinch

and Hossa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Eduardo won't be happy with that.

Hossa wants to control but Eduardo is keeping him busy.
Eduardo is trying to control but can't.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hossa connects with a nice short shot to Eduardo's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hossa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hossa wants to stand up but Eduardo is controlling the position.
Eduardo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Eduardo.

Hossa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hossa is in close to Eduardo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hossa chips away with some ground and pound.
Eduardo keeping moving, preventing Hossa from controlling successfully.

Eduardo has momentary wrist control but Hossa slips an elbow through the middle.

Hossa gets to his feet - Eduardo follows without any prompting.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Eduardo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hossa counters with a body kick that stops Eduardo in his tracks momentarily.
Carlos Eduardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hossa takes the fight into the clinch.
Eduardo fails to pull guard.
Hossa lands a nice elbow.

Hossa manages to break the clinch.
Eduardo closes the distance but Hossa moves to the side

and Hossa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Eduardo's guard now.
Hossa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Eduardo can do to turn this around?

Eduardo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hossa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, if Hossa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hossa stalling away here and it's allowed Eduardo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eduardo controls Hossa momentarily but Hossa frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hossa lands a couple of elbows.

Hossa stands up and waves to Eduardo to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hossa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hossa postures up.
Hossa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hossa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eduardo's head.

Eduardo is staying active underneath Hossa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Eduardo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hossa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hossa's back!

Hossa manages to reverse the position and now he's in Eduardo's guard. Nice work there by Hossa.

Hossa makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Hossa decides to stand up, so the ref orders Eduardo to his feet.

Hossa shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Eduardo is on queer street and Hossa is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Andrew Hossa!
