Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clarence Mcintyre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Mullen!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre closes the distance and clinches up with Mullen, looking for a takedown. Mcintyre pushes Mullen against the cage but Mullen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mullen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcintyre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mullen stops a takedown attempt from Mcintyre.
Mcintyre's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mcintyre breaks from the clinch.
Mullen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mullen misses with a head kick.
Mullen throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mullen instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mullen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mullen throws a sloppy head kick and Mcintyre moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Mullen.
Mcintyre blocks a head kick by Mullen.
Mcintyre misses with a body kick.
Mullen lands a high kick!
Mullen connects with an inside leg kick.
Mcintyre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mullen lands a brutal head kick. Mcintyre looks out on his feet and Mullen throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
