Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smith (ranked 3996 p4p, 505 weight class) and Brian Murphy (ranked 8967 p4p, 732 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Therion - Sitra Ahra. Murphy has chosen Róisín Murphy - Primitive as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

45 - 41 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It seemed like Murphy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Murphy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Murphy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Murphy throws out a leg kick but Smith moves out of range and Murphy only half commits.
Murphy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A head kick misses from Murphy.
Murphy on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Murphy tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick misses from Murphy.
Murphy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Smith swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Murphy tries to land a body kick
and Smith counters with a head kick.
Murphy misses with a left hand
and Smith counters with a crisp right hand that drops Murphy! Smith lets Murphy back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Murphy is rocked!
It looks like Brian Murphy has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Look low, kick high! Smith uses the oldest trick in the book to send Murphy tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Smith is absolutely delighted - when Murphy wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mike Smith!
Mike Smith really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Mohito Fightwear (Laundry) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
In defeat, Brian Murphy stepped up to the mic, saying 'Can I still cut it?'.
