Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shiit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stark tries to avoid it but Shiit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stark to the ground. Stark escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shiit.
Shiit tries for a takedown but Stark circles away easily
and Stark counters with an outside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mustapha Shiit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stark scores with a body shot.
Shiit gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Stark tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shiit's elbow.
Shiit tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shiit is working for takedown but Stark is calmly controlling the position for now.
We've been informed that Stark has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Stark tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Shiit avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stark lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stark thows a huge punch but Shiit dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stark is looking to stall here but Shiit recovers full guard.

Shiit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stark can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shiit bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stark's guard.

Shiit drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stark manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shiit has Stark in his guard.

Stark sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Shiit doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Stark paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Shiit - great work!
